Alleen Neace Gaither
October 22, 1958-July 16, 2022
Alleen (Cookie) Gaither, 63, wife of William Gaither went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Preston Neace and Hazel Francis Neace.
Alleen graduated from Pendleton County High School, Falmouth, Kentucky in 1977. During her four years of high school, she received awards for perfect attendance, having only missed 2 days of school during the 10th grade.
She enlisted and served in the United States Navy from December 10, 1979, through December 9, 1984. During this time, she attended Recruit Training in Orlando, FL; Hospital Corpsman “A” school in Great Lakes, IL; was stationed the Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, PA and was transferred to her final duty station at the Naval Hospital, Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. It was there she met her future husband, Bill Gaither.
Alleen loved life, was a friend to all she knew and enjoyed volunteering to help others.
She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she volunteered as a nursery worker and started a ministry called “Heavenly Hugs” to provide items to needy children and youth. She also loved to sing and volunteered to assist in leading worship music on Sunday mornings and sang many solos.
She was an avid supporter and volunteer of the local “Christ’s Cupboard” food bank.
Alleen was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and true friend to all who knew her.
Alleen was also preceded in death by a brother, Vinson Neace, a sister, Barbara Ann Stahl, and a great nephew David Neace.
She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, William Roy Gaither, a daughter Stephanie Lynn Gaither and a son William Floyd Preston Gaither all of Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
Three sisters, Wanda Faye Ray, of Georgetown, Kentucky, Imogene Fuehner, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, and Beverly Fibbe, of Alexandria, Kentucky; One brother, Rickey Neace, of Butler, Kentucky; Eleven nieces and nephews, and nineteen great nieces and nephews.
Alleen loved her family, her church family and friends, but above of all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in who’s hands she rests now.
