August Hague Obituary

August Edward Hague, 93, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at his home.

 

August was born November 8, 1928 in Olive, OK the son of John Harrison and Bertha (Hoover) Hague.  On December 6, 1963, he married the former Jenna Lee Lunday in Ponca City, OK.  They were married for 58 years.  August and Jenna Lee owned Hague Glass & Tile in Pawhuska for many years.  A Veteran, August had served in the US Army from 1950 thru 1952.  A lifelong member of the Community Christian Church in Ponca City, OK, he served as a youth leader in his church.  He regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska and loved his Men’s Sunday School Class.  August had a beautiful singing voice and sang for many occasions over the years.

 

In his spare time, August enjoyed fishing, camping, creating his art, and traveling in his camper around the country.  A voracious reader, he especially liked the Louis L’Amour books.  August loved spending time with his kids. 

 

He always said, “I just want to be remembered as a good man.”

 

Surviving is his wife, Jenna Lee Hague; children Bill Hague, Cindy Simmons, DeeLee Webster and Cheryl Pettus, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.  August was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2:00PM, in the Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home.  Janice Albro will officiate.  Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
