Clara Marie (Swan) Smith

Clara Marie (Swan) Smith passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Brookdale North, Bartlesville, OK.  She was 91 years old.

Clara was born April 23, 1931 in Pawhuska, OK.  The daughter of George and Florence Elma (Gibson) Malaske. On November 22, 1950, she married Morris Wayne Swan in Pawhuska.  He preceded her in death March 29, 1996.  Clara then married Lee Charles “LC” Smith on June 2, 2001 in Pawhuska.  He preceded her in death December 18, 2019.  Clara never missed a special occasion to send cards to family and friends.  She loved her family and homemaking.  She enjoyed cookouts at the cabin, playing bridge, gardening, and growing flowers.  Clara was a faithful Member of the First United Methodist Church of Pawhuska, United Methodist Women, PEO, and a past member of the Bird Creek Homemakers Extension Club.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Dettmann and husband, John; brother Jim Malaske and wife, Sue; sister-in-law Cecilia Malaske; three sons Bruce Swan and wife, Nita; Brad Swan and wife, Jan; and Brent Swan and wife, Cris; grandchildren Keith Swan, Jeffrey Swan, Dana Cass, Amy Cox, Shanna Pradmore, Brenden Swan, Briar Swan, Kaytlyn Swan, Meagan Music and Faith Bliss; 15 ½ great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wayne and LC, and brothers Jerry, Jack, Roy and Bill Malaske.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 8AM – 6PM, with family receiving visitors from 6PM – 8PM, at Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 10:00AM, at the First United Methodist Church of Pawhuska.  Rev. Brett Thomasson will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
