Clifford Stroud Obituary

Clifford Eugene Stroud, 91 years young, transitioned into eternal life, surrounded by those he loved, on February 05, 2022.

Clifford was the son of BD Stroud and Opal (Wing) Stroud. Clifford was born on October 30, 1930 in Kansas.  Throughout his young life, Clifford’s family moved several times between Oklahoma and California, following the harvest. Clifford would eventually meet the love of his life, Emma Jean (McGill), at the age of 25.

Clifford and Emma Jean married in 1955 and never left each other’s side. Together, they made a home and were blessed with four beautiful children; Michael Gregory, Sherry Elaine, Patricia Lynn, and Sharon Rose. As a Minister, Clifford’s faith called him to move to different churches as needed, but eventually settled in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Clifford enjoyed knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Clifford instilled this faith into his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Clifford loved to sing songs about the Lord and hymnals, especially one of his favorite hymns “What a Day that Will Be”.

Clifford enjoyed baking and cooking for his family. Some of Clifford’s favorite memories were spending time with his family preparing meals for family gatherings or holidays. A tradition which he would pass on to his children and they onto theirs.

Clifford was preceded death by his father, BD and mother, Opal.  A sister, Marie Lee. Two brothers, Leonard Stroud and Paul Stroud. A grandson, Jared Pearson.  All of which he loved and missed dearly.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Emma Jean. His children, Michael “Greg” Stroud and wife Kathy of Pawhuska, OK, Sherry Brown and husband Stanley of Wynona, OK, Patricia “Lynn” Pearson of Pawhuska, Ok and Sharon “Rose” McBurl and husband Ditty of Pawhuska, OK. A sister, Sharon Moore and husband Danny of Elkmont, Alabama. A brother, Jack Stroud of Tipton, Oklahoma. Along with a gaggle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services for Clifford will be held at the Pawhuska Assembly of God Church on Friday, February 11th at 10:00am. Clifford’s grandsons, Don Brown and Michael Stroud, who followed his footsteps into the ministry, will officiate the service. Graveside service will follow in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”  Luke 23:43
