Franklin “Dale” Parker passed away March 5, 2021 at his home in Pawhuska at the age of 91.
Dale was born July 2, 1929 in Elgin, Kansas. He was the eldest son of Fred E. and Zona (Hampton) Parker.
After graduating from High School in 1947, Dale joined the Air Force where he was stationed in Germany from 1952 to 1956 as a Crew Chief on the C124 Military Transport. That’s where he discovered his love for airplanes and later received his private pilot license.
Dale spent his working career in the pipeline industry as a Master Mechanic working all over the world.
After retiring, he religiously attended the annual EAA Oshkosh Air Show. He would head that way several days early so he could reserve that special campsite for his special group of friends. It was always the highlight of his year. He would start planning for the next year as soon as he returned home from the current one.
Dale is survived by daughter, Dari A Short, McAlester, OK; sister Darlena June Sumter, Pawhuska, OK; brother Donald E Parker (Jean) Cleveland, OK; sister Peggy L Nelson (Roy) Canton, TX, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Zona Parker; three brothers Henry Dean Parker, Glenn Wilfred Parker and David Lowell Parker.
The family would like to thank Tonya Nutter and RiverCross Hospice for their excellent care which allowed him to remain at home until his passing. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to RiverCross Hospice, 3654 SE Camelot Dr, Suite A, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
