Glenda Jeanette (Merrill) Henley

Glenda Jeanette (Merrill) Henley, age 81, of Wynona, OK passed away on March 21, 2024 at her home with family.  She was born on June 8, 1942 in Tulsa, OK.  Glenda attended Wynona Public Schools.

On May 25, 1959 she married Orville Henley in Dewar, OK.  They first lived in St. Joe, AR where their son Frank was born.  Later, Pam and Corban would be born in OK.  Glenda was a seamstress and worked at the Hollywood Shoppe in Pawhuska making alterations, sewing, quilting and embroidering throughout her lifetime.  She worked 7 years at Walmart in Cleveland, OK as the UPC clerk, where she became technologically advanced.  Glenda taught herself to paint and could quickly learn anything she wanted.  She loved to travel across the US and enjoyed camping with her family as well.

However, Glenda’s greatest passion in life was ministering and seeing the lost saved, healed and delivered.  She started a television program named “Good News for Today” and later became President of Women Alive, Inc, traveling abroad to spread the gospel.  Glenda was a founding member of Antioch Christian Fellowship where she also pastored for a time.  Her heart’s desire was to see Jesus glorified.  Her legacy to her family will live on forever.

Survivors include her husband, Orville Henley, Sr; their children Frank Henley, Pam Aubrey and Corban Henley, Jr; grandchildren Jeremiah Henley, John Henley, Nick Aubrey, Jordan Aubrey, Karie Laughlin, Anthony Henley, Corban Henley, III and Robert Henley; great-grandchildren Hunter Henley, Hayden Henley, Hanna Henley, Ashley Henley, Bailey Bowman, Ryan Henley, Aiden Aubrey, Mason Aubrey, Morgan Aubrey, JJ Aubrey, Jaden Henley, Avah Henley, Allie Henley, Aubree Henley, Ross Henley, Peyton Henley, Jentri Henley, Blake Henley; and 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as her sisters Charlotte Williams and Shirley Swindell.  Glenda was preceded in death by her parents CF (Frank) Merrill and Mabel Marcellaine (Mannon) Merrill and her grandson Jonathon Aubrey.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, 1PM – 6PM, at Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska, OK.  Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2:00PM, at Antioch Christian Fellowship, Wynona, OK.  Rev. Wayne Brown will officiate.  Interment will follow at the New Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall, OK.
