Glenna Sarita Bone, born August 7,1943 in Oklahoma City, passed away on Sunday April 2, 2023 at Cimarron Pointe Care Center, Mannford OK.
Glenna spent most of her life in Pawhuska Oklahoma. Her parents were John and Glenna Sr. Leigh, divorcing when Glenna jr. was a child. Glenna was raised between both parents, an aunt and her grandmothers. Glenna married twice in her life -
Mac Overholt, the father of her 3 children, with whom she was married for 15 years - and her second husband, John Bone, with whom she stayed married to until John’s death in 2015. They were married for 32 years.
Glenna was a beautician, custodian and secretary. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She taught Sunday School, worked at the teen center, had a beauty shop at Cedar Ridge, cleaned several businesses with her husband John, including the bingo hall, the Baptist Church, the phone company and the Osage Federal. After her children were grown, Glenna and John took in and raised her grandson. In her spare time, Glenna enjoyed reading, watching mysteries, AA, playing bingo, going to the casino, visiting with her kids and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved music from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles.
Glenna is preceded in death by her husband, John E Bone; his daughter Andrea; sister Pamela; stepsister Vivian; parents John and Inez Leigh and Glenna and Alvin Choice.
Those surviving are her children John-Theresa Overholt, Alice-Rusty Goad, Duke-Sandra Overholt, Tony-Karen Bone and Justine-Tom Hudson; grandchildren John Brandon Thompson, Ashley Overholt, Brian Demaree, Nicki Parsons, Mac Bone, John P. Bone, Jared Bone, Makenna Overholt, Memphis Overholt, Matthew Overholt, Ashley Ward, Jessica Holbert and Tesa Goad; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother; so many nieces and nephews and many close to family friends that she spoke of often and prayed for daily. Until we meet again, we pray for her peace and rest.
A Memorial Service is set for 11am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Osage Nation Civic Center, 1449 West Main, in Pawhuska. Dinner will follow. Private family interment will be in the AJ Powell Cemetery, Hominy, OK.
