James LeRoy Deckard

Pawhuska resident James LeRoy Deckard passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at his home.  He was 90 years old.

Jim was born October 4, 1930 in Rockport, TX the son of Virgil Jack and Fleeta Alma (Crumrine) Deckard.  On October 4, 1990, he married the former Deana Smith in Las Vegas, NV.  A Veteran, Jim was retired from the United States Air Force and General Services Administration, where he had served for 40 years.   He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books in his spare time. 

Surviving is his wife, Deana Deckard, of the home; daughter Wanda Johnson and husband, Jack; sons James Deckard, Jr., and David Deckard and wife, Karen; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, AR “Scrappy” Deckard and Virgil F. Deckard.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 10, 10:00AM, at the Pawhuska City Cemetery.  Graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 198.
