James “Jimmy” Robert Hatfield, age 61, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023 at his home in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was born on February 2, 1962 in Barstow, California to Jim and Jan Hatield.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was known for his orneriness, appetite and having a servant's heart. Jimmy lived life to the fullest and was an active member in his community. He served as the youth pastor at Barnsdall Assembly of God for 17 years, served on the Barnsdall school board for 20 years and was a local pastor at Cornerstone Community Church for 5 years. He also spent many years volunteering as a coach for all his kids teams.
Jimmy was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to his career. He spent nearly 20 years working at Petrolite before buying his pest control business. Jimmy owned and operated Pawhuska Pest Control from 2000 to 2017. He was known as quite the talker and always had to have a little extra time to visit with his customers.
Outside of work, Jimmy had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite team, the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, cutting wood or just piddling around the house.
Above all, family was the most important thing to Jimmy and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. On July 30, 1993 he married the love of his life, Brenda. Together they raised their four children Tim, Kamree, Kori and Mariah. Jimmy loved his children but his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Brenda (Smith) Hatfield, children Tim (Christi) Wilson, Kamree (Austin) Legg, Kori (Austin) Brinkley, Mariah (Clay) Mitchell, grandchildren Kayde, Kashton and Adilyn Legg, Rush Ryatt and Reese Wilson and Wrenlee Mitchell, parents Jim and Jan Hatfield, sister Julie (Wayne) Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Chester Leo and Juanita Hatfiled, grandmother Helen Bieker, and in-laws Wes and Nancy Penland.
Jimmy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him
Services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2:00PM, at the Barnsdall Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in the Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall.
