Judith Coday Obituary

Judith Ann Coday (née Brown) of Pawhuska, Oklahoma went home to be with our Lord on June 29th , 2022. She was born on February 26th , 1940, to Fiona and Stanley Brown in Bad Axe, Michigan. She is survived by her ever-devoted husband Ronald Coday. They shared 38 wonderful years of marriage including a lifetime of joy with their children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law Paige (née Newton) and Chris Gray of Springboro, Ohio, son Ray R. Newton II and wife Cindi (née Poff) of Miamisburg, Ohio, and step-daughter and son-in-law Debi (née Coday) & Howard Hamilton of Cleveland, Oklahoma. She will be missed immensely by the entire family including 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both her parents, brother Doug Brown formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and granddaughter Amy Hamilton of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Judy attended college in Adrian, Michigan, was a Court Recorder, Co-owner of The Virginia Apartments in Pawhuska with her husband Ron, Owner of Auntie Eek’s Shabby Chic, Promotor for country singer Hank Thompson, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pawhuska. Her beauty and smile could light up a room. She was the definition of class and grace and had a way of effortlessly looking stunning. Judy had an uncanny ability to approach a stranger and become fast friends. She had the gentlest spirit and the sweetest soul. She loved the prairies of Oklahoma and all the happenings in her hometown of Pawhuska. Judy looked forward to time on her back porch with her husband Ron. There they could birdwatch, sing along to her favorite tunes or study the bible. She looked forward to the summer months when she could enjoy boat rides and gatherings on the dock with loved ones at Blue Stem Lake. Judy loved writing out new recipes to cook for her family. Her grandchildren can attest to her famous buttermilk pancakes that were always served with a chilled strawberry sauce and whip cream. Those who knew her can testify that whether face-to-face or a thousand miles away, they could feel her love in the kindness of her words - it could be heard in her voice. She took great pride in her entire family and never missed an opportunity to let them know. The funeral service for Judy will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, at the Pawhuska First United Methodist Church. 621 Leahy Ave Pawhuska OK 74056.
