Kenneth Woodhams Obituary

Rev. Kenneth Carl Woodhams, of Pawhuska Oklahoma, went home to Jesus on December 14, 2020 at age 71.

Ken was born to Carlton and Ann Woodhams on September 21, 1949 on September 21, 1949 on the family farm in Allegan Michigan. As a child he was involved in 4H and enjoyed playing baseball and football. Ken met his wife, Capie Rowe on the school bus when he was 16 years old. They married July 10, 1971 and went on to have 3 children: Nathan, Bryan, and Kathryn. He often remarked that his wife should be sainted for her untiring support of him and his ministry no matter where it took them

As a child, the regular attendee of Sunday service and Sunday school planted the seeds of Ken's early. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1967 and attended Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He worked a variety of jobs and until he was called to the ministry through his experiences at both the First Presbyterian Church in Richland and the First Presbyterian Church in Allegan. Ken attended Bangor Theological Seminary in Bangor, Maine

Ken was a force of nature when it came to his ministry. He was determined to follow Jesus and show love to all. He worked tirelessly to touch lives and minister to those in need whether it was through Mission at The Eastward or Rural Community Action Ministry, building houses and helping shepherd families out of poverty. Or through his work with Kiwanis. His last call of ministry involved interviewing and befriending any who walked into his office at the Pawhuska Ministerial Alliance and helping with their needs. His kindness and love were evident to all who met him.

Ken also enjoyed theater and took part in many plays including playing the Ghost of Marley in the Christmas Carol, Rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof, Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street, and Bubba in Faith County. He also enjoyed Vacation bible School and it was always fun to see him dress up as different characters to bring the bible stories alive for young kids. It was common to see him dancing to music during church and Sunday school and even joining in the energizers at Summer Camp. Throughout his entire life, he brought an unwavering energy to his faith in God which he loved to share with those around him.

Ken was a loving father and husband and always made time for his family no matter how busy he was. He looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether it was for a game of catch, a laugh, to offer advice, or sometimes all three at the same time. Meals with him were always a joyous affair and he enjoyed breaking bread with his family as he laughed at his favorite funny quotes from movies or books. His laugh and smile will be greatly missed

Ken joins parents Carlton and Ann Woodhams and granddaughter Delaney Williams in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Capie, children Nathan & Heather, Stephanie, Bryan & Sara, Kathryn & Joshua, and grandchildren Nathan, Andrew, Ethan, Ava, Kaiden, Lily, and Reece and sister Carleen and brothers Ben and Bill.

The family requests that all flowers and notes and memories are sent to Presbyterian Disciples Church in Pawhuska. There will be a celebration of life at 10am July 10, 2021 at Presbyterian Disciples Church, Pawhuska.
