July 16, 1953 ~ October 25, 2021 (age 68)

Obituary

Larry Dean Butcher, 68, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at his home north of Pawhuska.

Larry was born July 16, 1953 in Bartlesville, OK the son of Albert Edmond and Wanda Rose (Montgomery) Butcher.  On June 11, 1971, he married Theresa Sue Payton in Sedan, KS.   Larry spent most of his working life as a family-oriented man.  He cared about taking care of his loving wife, Theresa.   They were married for 50 years.

He always donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  Larry loved animals, taking care of his cattle (which were all named) and his chickens. He had a pet catfish named Scarface, who also gave him joy.   Larry also enjoyed four wheeling, driving his bobcat, cakewalks, sports, working with cement, welding, and doing electrical work. He built their home for his wife.

Larry led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that he would not tackle.  He was strong, determined and didn't give up. Larry's favorite movies were Titanic, Grease, and Facing the Giants. He would also spend time reading his Bible.  Foremost, Larry loved Jesus and God.  He lived life and laughed often.

Surviving family includes his wife, Theresa Butcher; son Darrell Butcher; daughter Dominique Watkins; brothers Darrell Lee Butcher and wife, Teresa, and Albert Gene Butcher and wife, June; seven grandchildren, as well as numerous other family and friends.
