Manuel Gloria Obituary

Manuel de Jesus Gloria, affectionally known as "Chuyito" by his loving family and "Mr. G" by his close friends, was born on March 14, 1951 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Joaquin Gloria and Maria Flores. He was eighth in a line of eleven siblings. Growing up, Manuel and his siblings spent their years living in Texas and traveling to Oregon and Idaho to work as migrant workers. He graduated from Eagle Pass High School in Eagle Pass, Texas in 1971 and from Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande, Oregon in 1975.

Manuel married Debbie Noriega on March 3, 1982 and had two daughters Brenda and Christina. He dedicated 38 years of his life to teaching young children as an elementary school teacher and also spent extra time coaching softball and mentoring kids in writing competitions. Manuel retired from teaching in 2013 and he and Debbie moved to Oklahoma in 2017 to be close to their daughters and their husbands Grant and Jason. Manuel enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures like drinking a good cup of coffee, watching baseball games, and spending time with his family. One of his most treasured memories was taking vacation trips to Oregon. Manuel was well known for his easy-going personality and flashy smile.

In his later years, Manuel became a diligent student of the Bible and dedicated his life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 24, 2021. He wrote many letters to people in the community about the Bible's hope for the future. Manuel is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Brenda and her husband Grant, daughter Christina and her husband Jason as well as siblings Anita Sifuentes, Arturo Gloria, Santos Gloria, Carlos Gloria, and numerous nieces and nephews.
