Mary Atterberry Obituary

Mary Elsie Atterberry, Age 90 of Pawhuska passed away June 17th, 2022. 

Mary Elsie was born in Crosbyton, TX to Earnest D. Cash and Fannie Lee Cash on December 2nd, 1931.  She married John W. Atterberry from Ralls, Texas on December 24th, 1948.  She worked in the Pawhuska School system for over 20 years.  She was involved in the Mental Health Association for the State of Oklahoma.  She was honored as Master of Ceremony for the Football Homecoming Parade.  Her passions were her children, baking her famous pies, and Huskie football.

She is preceded by her parents, five siblings, her sons Johnny Wayne and Duke Winston Atterberry, and great-grandson Buckman Miles.

She is survived by daughter Rita Skaistis and spouse Bruce, daughter Connie Miles and spouse Jack, son Dede Atterberry and spouse Kendra, and daughter Kristi Hall and spouse Doug, 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by all of the wonderful people that she loved.

Pall Bearers for the service will be: Justin Malone, James Sheppard, Byron Cowan, Jimmy Dickey, Ralph White, and Matt Hennesy.

Honorary Pall Bearers for the service are: Bo Atterberry, Josh Atterberry, EJ Miles, Emory Atterberry, Jake Atterberry, and Glen Jech.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday June 24th, 2022, at Oren Terrill Field House with Jacob Bruno of Pawhuska Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at the Pawhuska City Cemetery.

Viewing will be held at 8 am to 10 am before the service.
