Pansy Jean Barker, age 80, of Pawhuska, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Pawhuska Hospital. She was born on August 27, 1940, in Ben Lomond, Arkansas, to William Iva and Mary Lee (Ford) Leathers. She grew up in Wink, Texas, and was a proud Pawhuska resident since 1974.
Pansy was devoted to her sons and, never far from a table at a local Pawhuska restaurant, she could chat for hours with her wonderful friends. Over the years, she served the community in local Hospital Auxiliary and Lion’s Club activities, and she was always ready with a couple dozen cookies for any event.
Those left to cherish Pansy’s memory include her two sons, Keith Barker and wife Tonya of Kermit, TX, and Kash Barker and wife Nina of Norman, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Lee Leathers, and her siblings, Peggy Thomas, Patsy Hill, and J.R. Leathers.
Friends are invited to celebrate Pansy’s life at the Pawhuska Community Center on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
