Paula Catherine Maher, 90, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 28, 1931 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Gertrude and James Perry Brown.
Paula had a deep love for her family and friends. She gave herself the nickname of Big Momma. Mom and Dad began their young lives together in Oklahoma, then moved to Florida, Colorado, Arizona, and finally retiring in Bentonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dean Maher in 2007, and one son, Steven Patrick Maher who passed away in 2018. Paula is survived by two sons, John David Maher of Pineville, Missouri, Robert Franklin Maher (Vicki) of Johnstown, Colorado, daughter Dena Sue Mortensen (Gordy) of West Valley City, Utah. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four (almost five) great grandchildren.
A celebration of Paula's life will be held Friday, July 22nd, at 1:00 PM at the McCartney Johnson Funeral Home in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, with a short graveside service to follow.
