ROBERT VINCENT BLOCK, SR.

Robert V. Block, Sr was born in San Diego California December 7th, 1942, to Lorna (Hamerson) and Kenneth A. Block. He spent his school years in the San Diego area graduating from Montclair High.  His younger years included serving the U.S Army in Germany during the 1960s, becoming a body shop manager for Chevrolet and Ford in Los Angeles, CA and Tulsa OK, and opening a shop in Santa Fe, NM during the 1990s.
 

Once he moved to Oklahoma, he ventured into the art world, having a passion to meet numerous artists and collect various pieces. In later years he put together a gallery in Pawhuska called “The Place”. He was a member of Osage Indian Baptist Church, enjoyed eating lunch at Title VI, and visiting with people who would come to his shop.
 

His children are Patricia M. Block, Robert V. Block Jr., Jack A. Block, Larry L. Block, and Julianna Redcorn Cote. Robert has nine grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, October 30, at Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska.  Pastor Scott Kohnle will officiate.  Interment will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
