Robert Edward “Reb” Baker of Pawhuska, Oklahoma passed away on February 7, 2023 suffering a fatal injury due to seizures.
He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in horticulture and education. He was a middle school teacher in Lubbock, TX. Reb was named into the Eagle Clan. He loved his Osage heritage and participating in the Osage Elonschka dances, hand games and the cooks laughing at him for cooking over the fire in flipflops. It was his joy and great thankfulness to have been able to live in Pawhuska Indian Village these last four years. Reb celebrated everything beautiful God has made and captured it in his photography, writing and gardening.
Reb is survived by his children, Zechariah, Raelie and Claire, his parents Willard and Anne Tinker Baker, Jr., his puppy, Oofdah, his sister Heather Card (Jonathan), and their four children Ellis Anne, Seeley Grace, William, and George Baker. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, George and Carol Tinker and his son, Caleb.
Osage Service will be held at the Osage Chapel on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 am. The burial will be at Pawhuska Cemetery. Rebs’ Dinner will follow at the Osage Civic Center.
