Sarah Joan Wright McClurkin
Joan McClurkin passed away Monday June 12, 2023 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Joan was born April 29, 1935. She graduated from Bowring High School. She married Charles McClurkin on August 23, 1952 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They made their home in Bowring, Oklahoma and later welcomed their twin sons, Stephen and David. Joan loved taking care of her family and attempting to keep them out of trouble. She loved being a mother, but her greatest joy was being Grandma Joan to Sarah and Charlie. Joan was a member of the Whippoorwill Southern Baptist Church.
Surviving family members include her son Stephen and his wife Denise, grand-daughter Sarah and her husband Brian Barnes, and grandson Charlie McClurkin.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Gus Wright; her son David McClurkin; her husband Charles McClurkin; and her brother Walter Wright.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, 11 am, at the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home.
