Obituary

Sharon “Rose” McBurl (Stroud), 62 years old, broke free of her earthly bonds, surrounded by those she loved, on September 15, 2023.

Rose is the daughter of Clifford and Emma Jean Stroud. Rose was born on July 1, 1961 in Exeter, California. While young, Rose’s family moved to Pawhuska. She was the cherished “baby” of the family although she hated to be called that. She had a big personality and left a lasting impression on those she met. Her family would say that she never met a stranger.

When Rose was 20 years old, she met her husband Ditty while working at Sonic. They were inseparable from that moment on and later were blessed with two beautiful children, Kendra and Keaton. Rose and Ditty were married on February 4, 2006.

Rose was a beloved custodian at Pawhuska Schools where she often described her work as “taking care of her little angels.” Rose also worked at Wal-Mart, Homeland and Alco where she formed friendships with coworkers and individuals in the community. She was an active member of the Assembly of God church for many years and considered them as family.

During her free time, Rose enjoyed showing off her green thumb with her beautiful flowers and gardening skills. She spent many evenings Dutch oven cooking with her family in the backyard. These dinners were always filled with storytelling and laughter.

Rose will be remembered as a wonderful woman with a contagious smile and laugh. She spread love and kindness to many people who will miss her dearly. She fought a strong fight and is now rejoicing with her loved ones in Heaven.

Rose was proceeded in death by her father, Clifford Stroud and nephew, Jared Pearson.

Rose is survived by her husband, Ditty. Her children, Kendra McBurl and Jason Wooten of Texarkana, TX and Keaton McBurl of Pawhuska, OK. Her mother, Emma Stroud. Her brother, Gregory Stroud, along with her sisters Sherry Brown and Patricia “Lynn” Pearson. A grandson, Isaiah Wooten, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services for Rose will be held at the Pawhuska Assembly Of God Church on September 23rd at 2:00pm. Don Brown and Michael Stroud will officiate the service. Graveside service will follow.

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

"So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy." John 16:22
