Stanley Ray Shelton

Barnsdall resident Stanley Ray Shelton passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Hillcrest South Hospital, Tulsa, OK.  He was 84 years old.

Stanley was born February 1, 1939 in Quinton, OK the son of James Frank and Ethel Leona (Carter) Shelton.  On August 10, 1957, he married the former Carol Jane Rabon in Lequire, OK.  Stan met his bride 66 years ago and he knew when he met her that this was the one for the rest of his life.

The most important decision of Stan's life was accepting his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into his heart. It was Stan's desire for every member of his family to come to know and serve God. He was known as a good and honest man with an easy smile that never met a stranger. Stan dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was so proud of them. He was very loved and will be missed immensely by friends and family.

Surviving family includes his wife, Carol, of the home; son, Mark O. Shelton; daughter Diana J. Pester; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2:00PM, at the Nelagoney Baptist Church.  Pastor Martin “Bud” Witt will officiate.  Interment will be in the New Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall, OK.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Nelagoney Baptist Church, c/o 2038 County Road 2561, Pawhuska, OK  74056.
