Tara Hendren Obituary

Pawhuska resident Tara Catherine Todd, 53, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at her home in Pawhuska.

Tara was born June 17, 1970 in Pawhuska, the daughter of Billy Lynn and Betty Diane (Phillips) Todd.  She attended schools in Pawhuska, graduating with the PHS Class of 1988.  On April 8, 2004, she married the love of her life, Marty Allen Hendren Sr., in Sedan, KS.  Tara was the ultimate planner.  She enjoyed putting together themed parties for various occasions and would make game nights for family and friends fun events.  She loved travelling, from mini vacations to vacation experiences for her family.  Somewhat of an entrepreneur, Tara had owned a secondhand shop in Pawhuska for a time.  She had also worked for the Osage Tribe WIC Program.  At the time of her death, Tara was the Executive Director for the HELP Works, Inc.  She supported her grandchildren in every way she could and enjoyed doing so.   Tara fit in anywhere and everywhere she went – whether it was living with her family in Hawaii for a year or being right here in Pawhuska.  She was loved by all.

Surviving are her husband, Marty Hendren; mother, Betty Diane Todd; grandmother, Audie Lee Phillips; children Matthew Miller and Texanna Coleman; Katelyn and Tommy Hillsberg, children Cade, Cain and Cara;  Madison Miller; Patricia Hendren and children Gavin, Gage Gunner and Gentry; Marty Hendren, II, and Kelli Rasberry; Dusty and Courtney Hendren, children Deacon, Savanna, Levi and Titan; Destiny and Robbie Kennedy, children Langston, Saige, Everly, Ryan and Emersyn; brother, John Pryor; a nephew raised by the Hendrens, Penelton Lookout and son, Oliver; along with many other family members.  Tara was preceded in death by her father, Bill Todd; son Chris Miller; sister Cindy Pryor; aunt Betty Moore, grandparents Ed and Berniece Todd; grandfather Penn Phillips; great grandmother Dot Moore; and her dear friends, John and Cindy Willard.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 10:00AM, at the Pawhuska Methodist Church.  Jake Bruno will officiate, assisted by Rev. Brett Thomasson.  Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
