Viola May Harris, 84, of Pawhuska, OK died Monday February 22, 2021, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK.
Viola was born June 3, 1936 in Vinita, OK to Charles and Hazel Calvert. She was raised in Sweet Home, Oregon where she graduated high school. She moved to San Carlos, California in 1960, where she worked for First American Title in the reality business until the late 1970’s. During that time, she married Ronald (Ronnie) Harris and they moved to Edina, Minnesota for five years before settling down in Pawhuska, OK.
Vi enjoyed reading, western movies, and sports, especially women’s basketball. She also loved her church, First United Methodist Church, and the State of Oklahoma, especially Osage County and the Tallgrass Prairie. She spent many hours volunteering at her church and the polling stations during election season.
Viola is survived by her son Michael Scott of Salem, Oregon; stepsons Richard Harris of Edina, MN and Ronnie Harris of Hominy, OK; sister Eunice Wren of Grass Valley, CA; and nephew Terry Wren and niece Karen St. Clair.
Private services are planned, but will be live streamed on The First United Methodist Church Facebook page on Thursday March 11, 2021 at 2pm.
